Stuttgart


We spent most of a day in Stuttgart, having flown there on the way to Neu-Ulm.
Above is the big central square, but as you can see it's under heavy construction and not as nice looking as it could be.









Here is a funicular train we took up one of the hills surrounding Stuttgart... First we took a cog railway up one part of the hill, in search of good views, which we only found after going on a wild goose chase through town and country, then we went up again with this funicular. Actually there were no views on the top of that hill either, just thick woods. But there was a cemetery, which was quite interesting to look around in--the big WWI memorials, the extremely understated WWII memorials. And I even found a gravestone with my own last name on it!
